🔌 Function

Seals a static joint by being squeezed into a groove, the trapped rubber blocking the path fluid or gas would take between the two faces.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Fluid weeping or dripping from the joint
• Ring flattened, hardened or cracked when it comes out
• Ring swollen or gone soft, pointing to the wrong material for the fluid
• Nicks or a spiral twist from being rolled in dry
• Pressure loss or air drawn in at the joint

🛠️ Service Notes

• Fit a new ring every time the joint is opened, as a used one has already taken its set
