🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta 24-pole connector housing in red, weighing 0.036 kg and listed for 193 applications across D, TAD, TAMD, TWD and TD engines. The pole count and the red colour are what identify it — a housing of a different pole count or colour will not mate with the harness half it belongs to.

🚤 Compatibility

  • Engine Family: D, TAD, TAMD, TWD, TD
  • HP Range: 110-220 HP

Full model list at the end of this description.

⚙️ Key Features

  • 24-pole
  • Red
  • Fits 193 applications across D, TAD, TAMD, TWD and TD engines
  • 0.036 kg

🔌 Function

Holds the terminals of a wiring harness connector in the right positions and locks the two halves together so the joint cannot vibrate apart.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Intermittent faults or warning lights that come and go with vibration
  • Locking latch broken, so the connector parts under load
  • Housing cracked or a seal lip split, letting damp in
  • Terminals pushed back out of their positions in the housing
  • Green or white corrosion visible in the terminal cavities

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Confirm the pole count and colour against the connector you are replacing — housing 977929 in this listing is a 3-pole and will not substitute
  • Check the terminals themselves for corrosion while the housing is apart; a new housing will not cure a corroded pin

📦 Condition

  • Genuine Volvo Penta part
  • Brand new
  • Supplied in original or equivalent packaging
