978467 V-Belt Set | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta v-belt set, 775 mm long, weighing 0.143 kg and listed for four applications across TAD engines. It is a set, and it replaces two numbers that were each catalogued as a single v-belt — 20798260 and 966953 — so one order of this set covers both of the old belt references.

🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

• Volvo Penta TAD720VE
• Volvo Penta TAD721VE
• Volvo Penta TAD722VE
• Volvo Penta TAD520VE

• Engine Family: TAD

⚙️ Key Features

• 775 mm long
• Supplied as a set, not as a single belt
• Replaces the two numbers 20798260 and 966953, each catalogued earlier as a single v-belt
• Fits four applications across TAD engines
• 0.143 kg
• L=775mm (Volvo assembly listing)
• Also supersedes Volvo part number 958346

🔌 Function

Drives an accessory off the crankshaft, supplied as a set so the belts running together are all renewed at the same time.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Squealing from the front of the engine on start-up or under load
• One belt visibly slacker or running deeper in its groove than its neighbour
• Cracks across the back of a belt, or glazed and shiny flanks
• Black belt dust building up under the pulleys
• Charge warning light flickering, or the alternator falling behind

🛠️ Service Notes

• This is a set number covering two earlier single-belt references, so one order replaces both — do not fit a new belt alongside an old one, as the fresh belt takes almost all the load
• V-belt set 978489 is the 875 mm set for the same four TAD applications, and it is published lighter than this 775 mm set — order by length, never by weight
