978817 V-Belt Set | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta v-belt set weighing 0.338 kg and listed for 10 applications across TAMD engines. It supersedes 978823, which was catalogued as a single v-belt — so this set number now covers what used to be ordered as one belt. No length is published against it.

⚙️ Key Features

• Supplied as a set, not as a single belt
• Fits 10 applications across TAMD engines
• 0.338 kg
• Supersedes 978823, catalogued earlier as a single v-belt
• No published length

🔌 Function

Drives an accessory off the crankshaft, supplied as a set so the belts running together are all renewed at the same time.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Squealing from the front of the engine on start-up or under load
• One belt visibly slacker or running deeper in its groove than its neighbour
• Cracks across the back of a belt, or glazed and shiny flanks
• Black belt dust building up under the pulleys
• Charge warning light flickering, or the alternator falling behind

🛠️ Service Notes

• A set number now covers what was a single belt reference, so one order of this covers the old 978823 listing
• Do not fit one new belt alongside an old one from the set; the fresh belt takes almost all the load
