⚙️ Key Features

  • For M4 fasteners
  • Marked W
  • Listed for 137 applications across six ranges
  • Supersedes 948260

🔌 Function

Spreads the load of a fastener over a wider area and gives a clean bearing face, protecting the surface underneath as the fastener is tightened.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Fastener slack with the washer spinning free in the joint
  • Washer dished, cupped or distorted under the head
  • Bearing face scored or picked up where the washer has turned
  • Corrosion between washer and component, so it breaks up on removal

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Order by the size marking rather than by appearance - washer 981205 in this run is a different part with no size published at all
  • Fit the washer the right way up where the joint calls for it, and renew any that has dished
