🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta housing weighing 0.014 kg and listed for 41 applications across the TAD and TWD engine families. It supersedes part number 3963411, which was catalogued earlier as an insulator.

🚤 Compatibility

  • Engine Family: TAD, TWD

Full model list at the end of this description.

⚙️ Key Features

  • 0.014 kg
  • 41 applications across the TAD and TWD families
  • Supersedes 3963411, formerly listed as an insulator

🔌 Function

Holds the crimped terminals in place and insulates them from each other and from the metalwork around them.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Circuit dropping out, then returning when the connector is moved
  • Connector no longer clicking home, or coming apart in the hand
  • Plastic cracked or brittle, particularly around the latch
  • Terminals pushing back out of their cavities instead of locking
  • Water or oil tracking into the back of the connector

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Housing 984972 carries the same 0.014 kg listing and the same name, and the two fitment lists are almost the same size, so nothing separates them by weight. Order by part number
  • The housing is supplied empty, so check the terminals and the cable ends while the connector is apart
