🔌 Function

Seals a joint by being compressed into its groove, closing the path between the two components.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Seepage or a persistent damp film at the joint
• Ring found flattened, nicked or twisted on removal
• Rubber gone hard, chalky or swollen
• Pressure bleeding away slowly with no other fault found

🛠️ Service Notes

• Lubricate the ring and the lead-in chamfer before assembly so it does not shear or roll as it goes home
• Inspect the groove and bore for scoring - a scratch across the sealing face will beat a new ring
