⚙️ Key Features

  • Genuine Volvo Penta flange screw
  • Fasteners and Fixings group
  • Fastener — tighten to the figure in the manual for your engine
  • No fitment or dimensions published against this number — check it against the parts list for your engine

🔌 Function

Clamps a joint together on the engine or drive, holding the assembly in position and carrying the load across the joint face.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Weeping or blowing from the joint the screw secures, or a component that has worked loose against its mounting face
  • Screws found finger-loose or backed out, with witness marks or polishing under the flange showing movement
  • Corroded or seized heads that will not release cleanly, or a screw that snaps on removal
  • A stripped, rounded or damaged head, or a flange that has dished, cracked or lost its serrations

🛠️ Service Notes

  • The integral flange spreads the load and forms the bearing face, so do not add a separate washer unless the workshop manual for your engine specifically calls for one
  • Clean the threads and the seating face before fitting — grit, paint or old sealant under the flange gives a false torque reading and the joint will slacken off in service
  • Where the flange is serrated it must bear directly on clean metal to grip; discard any screw with a deformed flange or damaged serrations rather than reusing it
  • Tighten to the torque and sequence given in the workshop manual for your engine, and treat the screw as single-use where the manual specifies an angle-tightened or stretch fastener
  • Check the thread in the receiving component at the same time; a pulled or corroded thread will not hold a new screw however carefully it is torqued
