🔧 Product Description
Genuine Volvo Penta hollow drift weighing 0.612 kg. It supersedes part number 9992656, which is also superseded by spindle 9996625 - so that one old number now maps onto two current tools and an order for only one of them may not be complete. It is the lightest of the four hollow drifts in this run.
⚙️ Key Features
- Hollow drift, 0.612 kg
- Supersedes 9992656
- 9992656 is also superseded by spindle 9996625 - check whether both are needed
- The lightest of the four hollow drifts listed here
🔌 Function
Drives a bearing, bush or seal squarely into its bore while its bore clears the shaft or spigot the component sits on.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Struck end mushroomed or burred over
- Driving face chipped or no longer square to the bore
- Bore picked up or scored where it passes over the shaft
- Wall cracked or split from the bore outwards
🛠️ Service Notes
- The old 9992656 is covered by this hollow drift and spindle 9996625 together, so check the procedure before ordering one on its own
- A cracked wall on a hollow drift is not repairable - withdraw the tool rather than driving it again
