9998487 Sleeve | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Volvo Penta tool 9998487, listed at 0.703 kg, and one to check before ordering: our listing carries it as an oil filter wrench, while Volvo's own special tools catalogue designates the same number a sleeve. The catalogue names 48 engines for it - D11 4f JP, the TAD1140 to TAD1172 series, the TAD1640 to TAD1672 range, TWD1643GE to TWD1673GE and TWG1663GE - the identical list published against fixture 9990164. It consolidates two earlier numbers, 9996672 and 88800391, so a workshop holding paperwork against either of those is now served by this one number.

⚙️ Key Features

• Listed for 48 engines across the TAD1140, TAD1640 to TAD1672, TWD and TWG1663GE ranges
• Our listing calls it an oil filter wrench, Volvo's tools catalogue calls it a sleeve
• 0.703 kg
• Supersedes 9996672 and 88800391

🔌 Function

Takes the driving or gripping load on the correct face of the component, so it is worked without the shell or seat being crushed or marked.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Gripping or driving faces stretched, worn or distorted
• Tool slipping and crushing the component instead of turning it
• Drive square rounded off
• Body cracked or the pivot worn slack

🛠️ Service Notes

• The name is in dispute between our listing and Volvo's tools catalogue - confirm against the procedure before ordering
• Supersedes both 9996672 and 88800391, so either old number now brings this tool
• Fixture 9990164 carries the identical 48-engine list and is a separate item
