- Confirm wheel stud PCD, centre bore, bearing journals, seal surface and axle-nut thread
- Brake rotor thickness and offset must match the caliper and mounting bracket
- The complete running-gear capacity is limited by the lowest-rated axle, bearings, hub, wheel, tyre, brakes and suspension
- Set bearing preload and wheel-nut torque correctly after installation
- Flush and inspect regularly after saltwater immersion

Supports the trailer wheel on tapered roller bearings and, on disc-hub versions, provides the friction rotor used by the brake caliper.
