ACL Flexigauge Plastigauge - 0.025-0.076mm (Green)

Flexigauge is a precision-manufactured plastic strip used to check the clearance of main and connecting rod bearings. Strips are 12 inches long and packed in individual envelopes marked with the appropriate graduation.

⚙️ Key Features

• Remove the bearing cap and wipe the journal and bearing shell clear of oil
• Place a piece of Flexigauge across the bearing at the crown
• Install the bearing cap and, using a torque wrench, tighten the bolts to the correct tension - do not revolve the shaft or bearings
• Remove the bearing cap; the Flexigauge will be adhering to either the bearing or the shaft
• Compare the width of the flattened Flexigauge with the graduation printed on the envelope (thousandths of an inch on one side, millimetres on the other) to read the clearance
• Taper is indicated when the Flexigauge is wider at one end than the other; the widest point shows the area of least clearance
