Aftermarket Mercruiser Exhaust Elbow GM 2.5L, 3.0L & 3.0LX - Part Number: MAR076


A replacement cast-iron exhaust elbow for MerCruiser GM 153 CID / 2.5L and 181 CID / 3.0L inline-four engines. The 12076A2 family covers the later elbow arrangement used from the 1980s onward.

🔌 Function


The elbow turns exhaust from the inline-four manifold and injects cooling water before discharge.


Common signs of failure:


• External corrosion, cracking or pin-hole leakage

• Internal carbon, rust or salt restriction

• Cooling water entering the manifold, turbocharger or cylinders

• Steam, reduced cooling-water discharge or an abnormally hot exhaust hose

• Loss of power caused by excessive exhaust back-pressure
