Common corrosion problem with Mercruiser transom shields:
The seal under the steering pin bush will allow water around the sealing surface, and this leads to corrosion and eventually a passage for water to leak into the boat.
We have designed a system and tooling to bore out and then fit a sleeve into this housing.
With the ability to undertake this repair in-house or on-site, this can be completed in our workshop or with the transom shield still in the vessel.
The corrosion repair service provides a reliable solution for addressing corrosion issues in your transom shield. This process involves precise boring and sleeving to restore the functionality and durability of the gimble housing. Designed to meet high-quality standards, this repair ensures improved performance and extends the lifespan of your Mercruiser components. Simply ship the affected part to us, and our skilled technicians will handle the repair with precision and care. If you are unable to remove your transom shield with ease, you can disassemble the external components and we will then attend and fit on-site.
