This is a pair of PSR front torsion bars for the Mitsubishi Pajero NH / NJ / NK / NL LWB 1991 - 2000. On an independent front end with torsion bar springing, the bar is the spring: it twists as the lower arm moves, and its rate sets how the front of the vehicle sits and carries load.

Factory torsion bars sag over time, and a vehicle carrying a bull bar and winch loads the front far beyond what it left the factory with - which is why owners either wind the standard bars up past their design range or fit heavier bars.
